The new Safeguarding Youth Training went live Friday, May 16. Scouters are encouraged to take the new 90-minute training now, but they will be required to take the training when their current Youth Protection Training expires. It’s designed to replace Youth Protection Training and adds a section on S.A.F.E. Scouting. The new SYT training is good for one year. To renew, you'll need to review a 10-15 minute video and take the refresher test. If you pass with an 80 percent or above, you've recertified. If not, then you will take the entire SYT module. This online training is taken at https://my.scouting.org/
It hasn't been a year since we met our fellow Scouts from around the world at the World Jamboree. While they showed us how much fun they can have, this reminds me how dynamic they are too.
Do you have the international Scouting bug? Interested in plays, music, and all out campfire fun,
Do you need 7(e) for Citizenship in the World merit badge or Experience Requirement 3 for BSA's International Spirit Award?
The Embers 2020 program is the answer - an English Scouting group from Cheshire, England is bringing together the best campfire leaders, musicians and entertainers from across Europe for this event.
For scouts interested in earning the Inventing Merit Badge from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, please see link below. Though the merit badge is offered through National Capitol Area Council, scouts from other councils can join. Eight more days left to join as of July 1,2021 and the best part is everything is on Zoom. There is $10 registration cost.
